New neighbourhood plan approved
New neighbourhood plan approved
The master plan for a new neighbourhood south of Southfort was approved by Fort Saskatchewan City Council this week.
The Roseburn area covers a full 623-acre section of land south of Southridge Blvd and east of Highway 21. It has been named after the Roseburn Farm that existed there in the 1960s.
Once completed, the new neighbourhood is expected to house some 11,200 residents.
Development is to begin in the northeast quarter-section of the neighbourhood, and will include the proposed new public high school site, plus a mix of low, medium and high density housing.
Traffic circles are planned for almost all major intersections in this first section of the new neighbourhood. This section alone will also include three public parks, as well as a large storm sewer pond.
The very first part of this neighbourhood to be developed is expected to be the area directly west of Range Road 225/92 Street and south of Southridge Blvd.
