Twice But Nice gives $1million+
Our local non-profit second hand store marked its 40th anniversary with six grants totalling $50,000 last week.
Twice But Nice Society was officially registered as a non-profit under the Alberta Societies Act on Dec. 5, 1985.
This Dec. 5 the society officially exceeded $1 million in total donations back to the community.
“Throughout the year, we’ve marked our 40th anniversary with in-store contests, fun facts on our social media, and a special anniversary logo on our bag-sale bags,” says society president, Judy Rehill.
“But the heart of our celebration has always been our commitment to reinvesting in the community.
“When you think about it, it’s the clothing and household items donated through our back door, by our community, that make contributions like this possible.”
Grants awarded on Dec. 5 included:
Fort Saskatchewan Community Band Society – $10,000 for percussion equipment
Fort Saskatchewan Families First Society – $5,000 for conferencing equipment
Fort Gymnastics Club – $10,000 for upgraded equipment
Fort Saskatchewan Multicultural Association – $5,000 for a PA system
Heartland Grow Your Own Association – $10,000 for farm equipment
Fort Saskatchewan Public Library – $10,000 for the Imagination House Project
