New street lights for old park
New lights have been installed in the Roque Drive neighbourhood park to the surprise of several residents.
Fortis installed the lights Tuesday, Sept. 29 along the path between Roque and O'Brien Drive.
The lights were requested in 2024 by the Ross Creek Neighbourhood Watch group. The group told the Fort Saskatchewan's Policing Committee that the parks and pathways of their 75-year-old neighbourhood were too dark, and felt unsafe.
Some residents are now unhappy with the lights, particularly as they were not notified of the change.
