RCMP raid recovers Fort vehicle
A truck stolen in Fort Saskatchewan is one of several items recovered west of Wetaskiwin by RCMP last week.
Police found the items after receiving a tip about a stolen excavator and bulldozer on a property in Wetaskiwin County. They used a drone to confirm the items being at the site and were able to obtain a search warrant.
On Feb. 11 Breton/Thorsby RCMP and the Central Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, with assistance from the Alberta RCMP Auto Theft Unit, raided the property on Range Road 254 in Wetaskiwin County, just east of Highway 2.
Recovered items included three semi trailer tractors, seven trailers, a skid steer, two tractors, a sea can containing industrial hosing worth some $175,000, plus a vehicle and numerous pieces of machinery.
This included a Peterbuilt cab stolen from the Petro Pass card lock lot in Fort Saskatchewan's light industrial park on December 15, 2025.
While executing the search warrant, officers arrested 4 individuals at the property.
Richard Joseph Zukowski has been charged with 14 counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. The other arrested suspects have been released pending further investigation.
“This is yet another example of the harm that a small group of prolific offenders can cause,” says Sgt. Kelly Kraal of the Central Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit.
“Having a dedicated group of investigators both trained and equipped to focus all available efforts on these types of offenders has an overall effect of dropping crime rates.”
